Weekend Ramblings..

First and foremost a Katrina update. Here in West Central Florida I barely got a breeze, it should rain a bit tomorrow, but be worried about the panhandle. Those guys could use the breaks.

And onto another edition of ramblings.

-- I'm a few days away from my fantasy football draft. Do other guys get antsy before their fantasy sports drafts. I mean I'm picking #4 and it's a terrible spot because I'm wary of who might drop and who'll rise and what if I make the wrong pick. I liked the third slot more. Hopefully Tomlinson will fall to four...but that ain't happening.

-- Back to Hurricanes, does it annoy people when the Hurricane is supposed to show up and it doesn't? Sure it would be destructive if it came through, but still you bought all that beer and prepared for nothing more than a good thunderstorm.

-- Remember how much I loved the denim skirt....I really LOVE the denim skirt...But I hate capri pants, can't stand them. Either where shorts or wear pants. Women who wear capri pants can't decide anything. I'm convinced.

-- My job situation: Currently stagnant but with visions of city lights dancing in my head.

-- My 11-year class reunion is in a week. The 10 year was canceled due to Hurricane Frances. Not sure how I feel about it. I think it's too soon to see classmates, I really don't want to see many of them and the ones I do want to see, I have no clue what I will tell them.

-- I need a new vodka. Ketel One and Grey Goose are becoming out of date. Any suggestions?

-- Check out the cheap movie racks at your local Targer or Media Play (or that OTHER store), lots of goodness under $6 right now.

-- The Red Sox need to waive Curt Schilling, I'm convinced they'd be a better team without him.

-- I hate traffic. Driving to Orlando is the ultimate pain in the ass.

-- I'd ramble about my sleeping disorder but that's a serious topic for a serious post.

-- I would say that Karl Rove is at least as treasonous as Bill Maher. He's definitely not as funny, but probably more treasonous.

-- Dream vacation right now...Probably the Spanish Riviera.

-- The more I hear about it, the more I believe Lance Armstrong has fooled many of his fans. I hope I'm wrong though.

More later.

Assassinate for Christ...

And people wonder why no one voted for Pat Robertson in 1988.

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) -- Religious broadcaster Pat Robertson suggested on-air that American operatives assassinate Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez to stop his country from becoming "a launching pad for communist infiltration and Muslim extremism."
"We have the ability to take him out, and I think the time hascome that
we exercise that ability," Robertson said Monday on the Christian Broadcast
Network's "The 700 Club."

And Chavez is down with gay marriage. Off with his head I say and PRAISE....JEEEEEEEEEEEEEEESUS!

The SAT Answers

Since a few of you were so white you were embarassed to take the test, I must applaud Mudge and Cam for doing so publicly and even Barry for doing it in private and admitting that even he underestimated his whiteness.

So here are the long-awaited answers.

1) Papa was obviously a rollin' stone.

2) Everyone knows you use the cover of an album to pick up the trash.

3) Don't EVER leave the gate open man, you'll kill us all!

4) You talkin' 'bout my momma? You're going to get your ass kicked.

5) Bill Withers needed somebody to lean on.

6) Momma told you to come home before the street lights come on (before dark is also acceptible)

7) Every black church has a building fund, which was actually a "buy the pastor a new Cadillac" fund.

8) "Love, Peace and Soooooooooooooooooooooul

9) The three acceptable quotes were: "You told Harpo to beat me", "Anything come fuh me?" or "I'z married now!"

10) These treats were called Cool Cups and you got them from the Candy Lady. Where I'm from they were just Italian Ices and you got them at every bodego under the sun.

11) You can't never ever ever ever ever ever hit yo momma....Don't even try.

12) Friday....and you know this....MANNNNNNNNNNN

13) It's A Different World (originally starred Lisa Bonet too, one of my childhood crushes)

14) Momma covered the couch with plastic. Actually we weren't allowed in the living room anyway.

15) Who else but Sidney Portier. I think there were only three black actors (Dick Gregory being the third) allowed to do movies in Hollywood until Melvin Van Pebbles came about.

16) Richard Pryor was Jo-Jo Dancer in a movie about his life.

17) Friday night is official "Fish Fry" night in the 'hood. Spaghetti is also acceptible.

18) Pliers to change the channel and a wire coat hanger for the reception. Either answer is acceptible.

19) "Don't ask for nothing!" and "Boy...don't embarass me in here"

20) Damn...DAMN...DAMN!!

There you go.
