...Yes it's an actual post that isn't a meme, although no one really responds to my non-meme stuff :).

I had a good New Year's Eve, actually one of the best I've had in a long time. My friend Kellie rang in 2006 with me and for a chance I actually showed her a good time. We saw a great variety of my friends, got fairly buzzed from the ridiculous amounts of alcohol. It was a long night, we left my house around 7 and returned home around 4, but it was a lot of fun and I woke up New Year's Day feeling quite groggy.

The bad news was that it was one of the last times I'll be hanging out with Kellie before she moves to Norfolk, Va.,. This one hurts bad. It'll be real difficult to see Kellie go because she's my best friend here. We talk almost daily and we have so many of the same interests, it's rare to find anyone out there like that.

I'm not upset that she's leaving because she's going to a situation that I think will benefit her professionally and personally, but I'm sad to see her go because she's my friend and it was the one departure I didn't expect. I never really expected Kellie to leave Orlando. Maybe she would switch jobs or get married or something, but she'd always be close by.

Well those were the days, by this time next week she's going to begin a new life and hopefully find new happiness. I'm always going to be a phone call away like my other great friend in life is (Jessica), but I also have to realize that as time goes on and she grows to enjoy her new surroundings more, the phone calls won't be as frequent.

It's funny, last year around this time I sat at my friend Mike's house and watched a few NFL playoff games. A year later 75% of the people there have moved to other areas around the nation (Mike included) and it's just part of the business that I'm in. The business that took Mike, the business that took Brew, the business that took my Ledger Edge and the business that takes Kellie away. But we'll always have Fazzoli's in Winter Haven (which I'm convinced is the only restaurant in Winter Haven).

So like I told Kellie, it's not the end, it's just the beginning. She knows I'm not too far away and as for me moving....it's like 70 degrees here this time of year, I'm keeping it :).
