Salut to the Safe Haven
I often times my fun of my adopted home state (Florida) for the variety of silly and occasionally backwards laws.
However, when I heard of the safe haven law a couple of years ago I was always hopeful that more women with newborn children would utilize it, especially if it meant the difference between life and death for a child.
So
reading this story by my former co-worker Bill Bair, I'm happy that someone had the good sense to take advantage of the safe haven and while it must be tough for a mother to give up her child, it's the true definition of a mother to always look out for the best interest of her child.

Uhhhh No Thanks...
...I'm on a diet...again.
Dieting has actually gotten easier this time around because I'm not putting crazy pressure on myself. Take it day-to-day and don't try to kill yourself. The weight wasn't put on overnight it won't come off overnight.
Of course my main weaknesses are sweets. I can eat fruit, veggies and cut out fried foods, but those damn sweets get me everytime.
Anyway I'm roaming around the
Sweetbay one morning looking for juice and apples when I stop upon the bakery. (Now I could get into the horrible set of circumstances that places the bakery right next to the entrance, but I won't) And of course I start scanning the fresh baked donuts preparing to cheat. Even talking myself into it.
"Hey it's breakfast, you've got all day to work this off."
"Eat the donut with an apple and it'll digest easier."
"You've got to walk back home from the Sweetbay anyway, you need the sugar."
Anyway, I'm scanning...The sour cream ones don't look so good but those glazed ones look out of sight. And then I see the sign.
GLAZED YEAST ROLLS 0.63Glazed yeast rolls?!?! I don't know why but this turned me off. I mean I'll eat a donut but there's no way in hell I'm chomping on a glazed yeast roll. And I leave.
Thanks Sweetbay. I'll need all the help I can get.
