Salut to the Safe Haven
I often times my fun of my adopted home state (Florida) for the variety of silly and occasionally backwards laws.
However, when I heard of the safe haven law a couple of years ago I was always hopeful that more women with newborn children would utilize it, especially if it meant the difference between life and death for a child.
So
reading this story by my former co-worker Bill Bair, I'm happy that someone had the good sense to take advantage of the safe haven and while it must be tough for a mother to give up her child, it's the true definition of a mother to always look out for the best interest of her child.
