Some Sunday Reading...
A couple of snippets to enjoy on Super Bowl Sunday...
-- Joe Biden's kicks off and subsequently ends his 2008 campaign in the same
New York Observer article. The most notable zinger is the Delaware Senator calling Barack Obama "the first mainstream African-American who is articulate and bright and clean and a nice-looking guy,". That's some nice smack right there and he's STILL
apologizing for it.
Damn shame because I think Biden is a nice, hard-nosed alternative to many of the baby-kissing low-risk taking primary candidates. But he's not going to be able to overcome this one. Sorry man. Luckily no one lives in Delaware so you've got a job in the Senate for life.
-- And on the lines of describing people as atriculate, there's an excellent NYT article on why the word, while appearing to be complimentary on the surface can be
quite demeaning as well. Very interesting piece and something you professionals should always think about.
