Like I said...I'm not one to get political on my blogspace. I have my beliefs, I know where I'm leaning to on my ballot and nothing is going to change that.
However I wanted to talk about the debates that I and
63 million other people watched. It was a very good debate, a little bit too much has been put into it but obviously Kerry came out of it a lot stronger. Bush...ummm...well Bush...ummm...He....ummm....didn't really...*blink blink*...ummm...didn't really...ummm...seem comfortable....or....*blink blink* prepared.
Kerry was in a good position for the first debate because he didn't have to worry about substance. The Rove team had painted themselves in a corner with the constant attacks to the point of making anything Kerry said with a purpose seem even more important.
It's not really surprising that Bush would struggle in the initial debate, it was the first time in four years that he had to be accountable for his actions. He had to answer real questions and didn't have the help of the Bush machine to get him through it. It doesn't help that much of his stumps were in front of pre-screened crowds ordered to clap hysterically every time he burped. Often Bush was looking for some sort of applause light to go off after every comment.
That being said I expect he'll be tougher for the second debate. I'd talk about today's vice presidential debate but that's just a dog and pony show.
And yes Mr. President, your job is very tough. I'm sure you've worked hard before...Well, then again..
Moving on.
Sticking with a semi-political topic. I'm young and black, so when I hear that my fellow young blacks aren't really getting into the voting process I expected both candidates to try to do a little recruiting.
Kerry decided to tap...
Jesse Jackson to help him re-energize his young black base.
Ugghhh
C'mon John...Most of us have a little love for the Reverend but he's not going to energize the young black votes. Jesse is
old and he lost a ton of credibility after the whole child out of wedlock issue.
You want to energize the black vote, try calling P Diddy...or at least Bill Clinton.
Moving On.
Firehouse Subs. I haven't a clue about them. My travel agent Mike wants me to go in on a franchise with him. He wants to put one on the north side of town and tap into the heavy volumes of people for lunch.
I need to taste the product for lunch today. There's one of these on the southside so I need to throwback a sub and see if it's worth it. Personally I'd love to make some more money.
